About Me
My passion is plein air painting. I love being outdoors and looking for that beautiful place with lovely light to paint.
I have been painting all my life but only seriously the last few years when I retired from nursing and free of family obligations.
I work in a variety of mediums but I prefer oils. I have studied in workshops with many artists , taken online courses and read many books.
My latest workshop was with Kenn Backhaus, who is an excellent teacher. The workshop was about finding your own voice, and I am in the process of doing that. I have been studying with Johannes Vloothaus online for four years and have learned so much. I belong to some local art groups, and belong to the Ohio Plein Air Society and am included in their Gallery. I have been juried into a number of juried shows and show my work locally and online. My blog can be seen at www.Judyfischerwalton.Blogspot.com. It is called the Art Spark and I tell you what inspires me, how I paint and what is going on in my art life.
Painting outdoors for a number of years and it has improved my painting immensely and I highly recommend it for learning about light.
I enjoy teaching art and helping students find the light.
I now have a quarterly newsletter that shows current paintings, art tips, an art lesson and other events going on in my life. You can sign up below for that, just say "newsletter" in the comments.
Feel first, think next, design next, then PAINT!
